From hybridizer Patrick O'Connor: Steele Burden – Named for the member of the Burden family in Baton Rouge who owned the property eventually donated to LSU, and called Burden Museum and Gardens. Includes the Rural Life Museum that he developed. He was in charge of the LSU grounds for many years.
